Its Pumpkin time!

This past weekend we decided to take Halie down to the Dallas Arboretum. It is always beautiful down there and they they tend to have fun stuff set up for the kids. During the fall, they have quite the Pumpkin festival!

We thought it would be fun to plant a small tree about Halie's size so she could "grow up" with it. She had a blast, though Dad is a little tired from all the digging!

Ok, its been a while. Sorry about that. We need to keep up better with the postings.

Anyway, back in December we went to Marla's Brother's house for Christmas. Halie had a really Great time playing with her cousins! (and here Aunt and Uncle too of course!)

Apparently we get Tornados in Allen

We closed on our new house on March 27th. A tornado hit the neighborhood on April 10th. Fortunately for us, we did not get much damage, but others in the neighborhood were not as lucky. Our newly planted trees were blown down, but we were able to get them replanted pretty quick, so we are hoping they will make it. We had some slight roof damage and we lost a bit of our fence. Our cars got a bit scratched up, but that is a long story. (One which I am sure Marla would love to tell you some time)

In the end, everything can be fixed, we are just happy no one got hurt!

Our New House

Funny how your perspective on life changes with age. (and kids) I remember when I first met Marla - I was adamant that I did not want to live north of Northwest Highway. Then we started dating and I ended up moving just north of 635. Then we got married and I moved up to Frisco. Well, now Halie comes along and we decide to move to Allen. Crazy what you do for the women in your life!

We wanted to find a place with trees, trails and parks, so Allen turn out to be the obvious choice. We really like the new neighborhood, and our new house. If your ever in the area - stop by, we would love to catch up!

Halie Meets Uncle Tim

My Uncle Tim was in town for a few days so we were able to meet up with him for dinner. It was fun to introduce him to Halie for the first time. We forgot our camera, but fortunately Tim had a camera in his phone. It was great to catch up!

Ok - This post is late. Very late. Many of you have pointed this out, but we have had a ton going on the past few months. Marla got a new job back in December, we had the holidays of course, then we moved into a new house in April. You could say its been a bit of a whirl wind. We will try to do better in the near future!

Aside from all the craziness going on, we have found some time to take Halie out and enjoy some of the nice weather. There were quite a few nice days this past January. So, I leave you with a picture of an excited little girl about to go explore the neighborhood!

Happy new year everyone!
Thank goodness its about over. now, your probably asking yourselves "what is Tom talking about?" Well, I will tell you. I am an Accountant. Accountants don't particularly like the end of a year or the beginning of a year. Why? Work. LOTS of work. So, like I said, thank goodness it's about over.

Ok, on to more pleasant things - like Halie's Five month pics! Even though she cried when we gave her her Christmas presents, she did seem to enjoy the Christmas festivities in general. Enjoy!

BAD SANTA

I just had to share this with everyone. Last week, we took Halie to the Willow Bend shopping mall here in Plano so that she could get her picture taken with Santa. However, once we put her on Santa's lap, we discovered that Santa was in a particularly bad mood! While the picture did not turn out quite like we expected, we did get quite a laugh out of it. We hope you do too!

Fall Comes to Frisco

Fall has always been one of my favorite times of year. Unfortunately, we don't get much Fall weather in this part of the Country. We also don't get many Fall colors. However, this year was a bit unusual. With all the rain that we had during the summer, the trees kept their leaves longer and as a result - Fall Finally came to Frisco!

Month Four - Not so sure about solid foods

We decided to give our little girl a little something more substantial this month. Only one problem - she wasn't real big on the idea!

After a number of unsuccessful (and quite messy) attempts, we finally found the secret - she likes it thick. Who knew? We had made the cereal too runny! Oh well, she eats like a champ now!

Three Months Old - Can She Get Any Cuter?

Month Three. A quarter of a year old. It's amazing how time flies. Just the other day she was a little Baby burrito!
Now look at her - isn't she cute?!

Mom and Dad are very proud of our little Girl. She is a lot of fun these days. It seems like she is more interactive every day. She has recently started laughing. You should here it, its sooooo Deep! But she makes up for it when she squeals. (something else she recently discovered how to do)

Month Two - Just look at her Grow!

Ok, I know it's been a while since our last post, so we are going to try and make up for it by adding lots of pictures for Month 2 & 3.

Things have been rather crazy around the Wawersich house. Come to find out, the older Babies get, the more attention Babies demand!

Marla and I are doing our best to keep our little princess entertained but if your ever board, feel free to stop by - we could use a break!

Halie is One Month Old!

It's hard to believe that our baby girl turned one month this past Thursday! It has been an exciting month, and definitely a learning experience. We have learned to feed, burp, change, bathe, rock, comfort and generally manage our little Halie – and all with little to no sleep!

Our cat has been adjusting too. As you can tell from a few of the pictures, he got a little fed up with his “demotion” and tried to escape out of the back yard! It took three weeks before either of them would acknowledge each other, but they finally seem to have accepted each other – at least enough to share Tom’s lap.

Some of the things we have learned over the past month:

When bathing a newborn, speed counts. Cold babies are LOUD babies.
Protect your ear when burping a newborn, they will snort desperately and try to eat it.
A newborn’s smile will melt Moms heart – even if it has nothing to do with her!
Babies will mimic things outside the womb that they hear while inside the womb – like the yowl of a certain cat!
Items with straight lines (blinds, railings, ect) fascinate our little girl.
Some Babies come out of the womb swinging - Our little superstar was swatting at dangling toys at 2 weeks. Since then mom has been cheering her on every time she one-two punches the little critters.
While she always turns toward Moms voice, she is calmed by Dads.
Chest hair is NOT safe with a newborn.
While most babies like to be swaddled, ours declares war on our ears if her arms are restrained.
There is no need to be quiet when Halie sleeps. As we found out during National Night Out, she can sleep though a police siren! (Clearly Marla’s baby)
She has her Daddy’s taste in music. A little John Mayer and she calms right down.

I am sure we will learn many more things in the coming days and weeks, but for right now we are enjoying some simple pleasures in life. Marla was able to enjoy her first caffeinated coffee and first glass of wine in over a year! We have both been enjoying playing with our little girl, and who knew we would be so excited over the prospect of 4 straight hours of sleep!

Little Halie is here!

We are excited to announce the birth of Halie Christine Wawersich, born Monday, July 23rd at 5:02pm. Halie weighed a healthy 8lbs, 1 oz and was19.5 inches long. Baby and Mom are both doing great! We were released from the hospital Wednesday and are now in the process ofintroducing Halie to her new home. That and trying to get some sleep! :)We look forward to introducing you to our precious little girl,Proud Parents,Tom & Marla
